20 Hours Until Departure

This will be the only post that I will be able to write for a few days, since we will be travelling and getting settled in Jinja, Uganda.  We have been working for the past 2 days filling up 8 rubbermaid containers, some suitcases, and then trying to fit two glider rocking chairs into one box that is less than 50 lbs.  We literally had to take some duct tape off to make the weight limit correct.  James Blankenship, the youth minister at Highland, is going to take us down to the airport in New Orleans tomorrow.  This is a huge blessing.  We will fly out of New Orleans at 2:00 p.m., fly 3 hours to Chicago, have an hour layover, then get on a plane to Brussells for 8 1/2 hours.  When we get to Brussells, we will have another one hour lay over and then we will get on another plane to Entebbe for 8 hours.  The total travel time in the air will be 19 hours.  We will stay in a hotel in Entebbe Friday night and Mark Gwartney and Claudia Arango will meet us there and pick us up and drive us to the Good Shepherds Fold in Jinja, Uganda.  This drive will probably be a couple of hours.  I know that on Sunday we will be doing Sunday School for the youth and children and we will be leading in the church service for the adults.

I hope this will help you be able to follow our travels.  Hopefully I will be able to blog again on Sunday.  Please pray our team.  Pray that God will do great things in our lives and in the people's lives that we will come in contact with.  Also, pray for safety as we travel and while we are there.  God has given us this awesome opportunity and we give Him all of the praise and honor and glory for that.

One more thing to remember is that we will be 7 hours ahead in Uganda.  Thanks for your support and prayers.  I will leave you with this verse that Sandy Toombs sent through our prayer chain a few days ago.

"My salvation and my honor depend on God;  He is my mighty rock, my refuge."  Psalm 62:7
